Aurélie is a passionate, mischievous and sparkling French soprano.
Born in Serre-Chevalier, a ski station in the Hautes-Alpes, into a family of ski teachers and mountain guides, she defied the odds by choosing music at an early age. At the age of 16, she decided to give herself the means to fulfill her dreams, and left home to enter the Conservatories that would train her for the profession of lyric artist, which seemed to her to be an obvious choice: the Conservatoire (CRR) de Reims, then the Conservatoire du Premier arrondissement de Paris, the CRR d’Avignon and finally the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne where, after completing her Bachelor’s degree with Hiroko Kawamichi, she obtained her Master’s degree in Jeanne-Michèle Charbonnet‘s class.
Through Master-Classes, Aurélie has had the opportunity to perfect her skills with great artists such as Rolando Villazon, John Fiore, Marie-Ange Todorovitch, Jennifer Larmore, and Ainhoa Garmendia. She works regularly with Peter Nilsson, Todd Camburn, Marie-Cécile Berteau, Marine Thoreau La Salle and Florent Lattuga.
She is the winner of several international competition prizes: Second prize at the Concours International Leopold Bellan 3rd prize and Audience Prize at the Concours International de Béziers and Prix de la Mélodie contemporaine at Concours International de Mâcon.
Aurélie appears as soloist in Bach’s Magnificat with the Orchestre Régional Avignon Provence, under the baton of Jean-Pierre Lecaudey, and in Brahms’ Requiem with the HEMU choir conducted by Stephan MacLeod.
Her favorite place in the world: the stage! And she’s already had the opportunity to perform some fascinating characters: Sophie, the coloratura in « Mélodie à l’opéra », written and directed by Valérie Marestin at the Théâtre Liger in Nîmes, as well as at the Théâtre de Pézenas, and Susanna in Mozart’s « Le Nozze di Figaro » at the Théâtre de Pézenas.
Since the 2021/2022 season, she has performed regularly at the Opéra de Lausanne, where she has appeared as Despina in Mozart’s « Cosi fan tutte » (co-produced by HEMU and Opéra de Lausanne), as The Second maid in Loewe’s « My Fair Lady », and as Giannetta in Donizetti’s « L’Elisir d’amore » (directed by Adriano Sinivia). During the 2023/2024 season, she performed Maguelonne in Pauline Viardot’s « Cendrillon » and Noémie in Massenet’s « Cendrillon » (directed by David Hermann).
